Car Insurance Mercury (Car Insurance). Would it be too expensive or not worth it to add windows to a VW Bus?Would it be too expensive or not worth it to add windows to a VW Bus? I've been looking around through newspapers, Craigslist, Ebay, and many other websites searching for VW buses. I would really love a 23 window bus but they are way too expensive. If I found like a 11 window bus is it possible to bring it into a shop and have them add windows too it? Or is it too expensive? Almost anything can be done but there is always a price. So I was wondering if anybody maybe knew anything about it. Maybe if you know someone that does stuff like this could I get the name of there company or shop and give them a call and ask a couple questions? Thanks, Tyler there are not going to be any spaces for you to add windows, not the way the bus is made, the 11 window bus has bigger windows, and get what you can afford thats how you do this, The only practical way to do that would be to cut the roof out of a 23 window and weld it on to the 11 window, which would be kind of pointless. Trying to add windows like that would entail an immense amount of custom sheet metal work that would cost more than just buying the right bus. Auto parts : Electrical Tape Acura 1995 . Is this a good amplifier for my subwoofers? Currently, this is my system: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/viewitem.php?id=21675&show_tab=1 The amp that I have right now (in above link) isn't supplying enough power to the subwoofers. Would this amp make much of a difference? http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_21954_Kicker-ZX400.1-10ZX400.1.html If there's not a huge difference, then I think I'll just keep my current amp for now. (However, I really want more bass so I know that for sure in the future I will eventually upgrade everything when my budget is higher.) But for now, do you know of any other amps (that are in that price range of under $250) that will supply as much power as possible to the subwoofers without blowing them? And I don't want to sound stupid, but with my system, is the RMS that the amp is putting out split between the 2 subwoofers, or is that much going to each subwoofer? I know the peak power is 1200 watts for my subs but I heard that peak power means nothing and that I should avoid that. car insurance. Auto parts : Fender Roller Jaguar 1997. Fender Trim Jeep 1998. My problem is, I dont know anything about cars. So I cant buy an old one, and fix it up, or if it breaks down, i wont know what to do. I'd have to get it fixed professionally which would probably cost me more than its worth. Should I go ahead and buy an old car anyways? Or should I keep saving up for a newer, more relable car. Mercury . How to Replace the Window Regulator on a 1996 Grand AmThe window regulator on your 1996 Grand Am is used to attach the window securely within the frame, allowing the driver or passenger to raise or lower their window at will. If your regulator becomes damaged it will stop the window from working correctly and can even lead to the window becoming cracked within the frame. You should therefore look to replace the regulator if it has broken. Difficulty:Moderate Instructions Things You'll Need Trim stick Wrench set Screwdriver set Replacement window regulator Step by Step : 1 Open up the door of the window frame which you will be replacing the window regulator on. 2 Use a phillips-head screwdriver to remove the screws which are attached to the rubber trim around the window and rear view wing mirror. Use a trim stick to remove the rubber trim away from the window. 3 Use a wrench to remove the bolts attached to the black plate on the door. Lift the plate away from the door. This will give you access to the regulator. 4 Locate the regulator which will be attached to the bottom of the window pane. Disconnect the bolts which attach the regulator to the window frame. Remove the rest of the bolts on the bottom of the regulator and remove it from the window assembly. 5 Fix the new regulator in place with the mounting bolts. Attach the regulator back to the window pane. Reattach the door assembly by following the removal steps in reverse.
Mercury . How Do I Install an OEM Window Switch in a Sentra?Nissan offers replacement parts for the Sentra that are exactly the same parts used in building the car. Auto parts come in two designations: original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts and aftermarket parts built by a company other than the vehicle's manufacturer. When replacing auto parts, it's always best to use OEM if you want the exact quality and design of the original part. The window switch on a Nissan Sentra gives you instant control of the power window system; and when it fails, replacing it with an OEM switch will ensure you get the right part. Difficulty:Moderately Challenging Instructions Things You'll Need Trim tool Step by Step : 1 Slide the forked head of a trim tool under the outside edge of the window switch bezel. Pry the bezel out of the door panel. 2 Lift the bezel up and away from the door panel by hand, using care not to yank on the window switch wiring harness. 3 Grab the bezel in one hand and the window harness connector where it plugs into the window switch with the other. Pull the window harness connector off of the old window switch. 4 Push the window switch down and out of the window switch bezel. Insert the new OEM window switch into the bezel and push gently until it clicks into place. 5 Plug the window harness into the bottom of the new OEM window switch. Insert the bezel back into the door panel and push gently until it snaps into place. The right tires in the right condition can enhance your driving experience and make it safer. In fact, your brakes and your tires have a two-way relationship: Poor braking action results in increased tire wear, but properly balanced and aligned wheels and properly inflated tires in good condition can help stop your car up to 25 percent faster! There's also a strong correlation between tire inflation and tire wear. If your tires are underinflated, the outer treads wear out faster. If your tires are overinflated, the centers of the tread areas go. And if the wheels get out of alignment, your tires can wear out in as little as one day of hard driving! So to get more mileage from your tires, plus better braking action and a smoother, quieter ride, you ought to know a bit about buying, checking, and maintaining the tires on your vehicle. In this chapter, I tell you about the kinds of tires available. (You can buy different types and grades, and just as you wouldn't wear your finest shoes to the beach, you don't want to put the most expensive, long-lasting, high-speed radials on an old car that just goes back and forth to the shopping center.) I also tell you how to check your tires and how to "read" your treads for clues about how well your car is performing — and how well you're driving. If these clues show that you need to have your wheels balanced or aligned, or your tires replaced, I provide enough information for you to be sure that the work is done the right way for the right price. 3 OS Part "l: Kee P'n9 Your ^ar in 6ood Condition, System by System You don't have to do much (in terms of physical labor) with this chapter, so just find a comfortable place to read, relax, and enjoy. For information about how to change a tire, see Chapter 1. Tire Construction Mercury . Why should driving ages stay the same in tennessee?
Chrysler PT Cruiser. * Every tire has several major parts (see Figure 19-1): u0 The tread is the rubber part of the tire that gets most of the wear and tear. The tread patterns help the tire grip the road and resist puncturing. These patterns are also excellent indicators of tire wear. I get into reading these clues later in this chapter, in the section called "Checking your tires for wear." V The sidewall is the part of the tire between the tread and the bead. The section called "The Secrets on Your Sidewalls, Revealed!" later in this chapter decodes all the useful data molded into the sidewall of a tire. v* The bead is a hoop of steel wire that's shaped to help hold the tire onto the rim of the wheel. V* The casing (or carcass) is the body of the tire, located beneath the tread and the sidewalls. It helps the tire keep its shape when inflated, instead of letting it blow up like a balloon. The casing is made up of various materials, called cords. v* The belts are also made up of cords, which are coated with rubber and located between the body and the tread. The type of material used for the belts, and the way it's wrapped around the bead, determine the kind of tire and its price. Originally, cotton was used for the cords, but it soon gave way to better materials, such as steel, aramid (which is harder than steel)7fiberglass, polyester, rayon, and nylon. Steel-belted radials are the most popular type of tires today. v* The tire valve lets air into and out of a tire. The valve core prevents air from escaping. Each valve should have a valve cap to keep dirt and moisture from getting into the tire. Until recently, tires came in a variety of constructions. There were bias-ply tires, which featured cords wrapped around the beads at overlapping angles. These were superseded by bias-belted tires, which were constructed in the same manner as bias-ply tires but featured belts of another material that wrapped around the tires' circumference, providing longer wear, puncture resistance, and more directional stability. Today, all vehicles come fitted with radial tires and, because all but the oldest vehicles run well with them, bias-ply and bias-belted tires are no longer readily available. .Chapter 19: Checking Your Tires, Alignment, and Steering Figure 19-1: Mercury . If you have an antique or classic vehicle that requires old-style tires, you can find companies that manufacture reproductions of the original tires for your vehicle's make, model, and year. Radial tires have become the standard because they provide better handling, especially at high speeds; they tend to grip the road more efficiently, especially when cornering; and they can deliver twice the mileage that bias-ply and belted tires did. Radial tires run cooler because they have less internal friction. (Bias and bias-belted tires had overlapping cords that translated into more internal friction and more heat when in motion.) Wear varies from 25,000 miles and up, depending on the belt material used. Top-of-the-line steel-belted radials can last from 40,000 to as many as 100,000 miles under average conditions. To decide what type of tire is right for your vehicle, see "Tips for Buying Tires," later in this chapter. The Secrets on \lour Sidertalts, Repeated!
